Smarame ArtSwim to the Next Level

Nearly two years ago, we embarked on an ambitious IT challenge: building a synchronized swimming scoring system capable of supporting both national and international competitions.

For the past year and a half, competitions organized by the Hungarian Synchronized Swimming Federation have been running on our platform. The recently completed Hungarian Open 2026 marked a major milestone. For the first time, our system managed the entire competition process end-to-end — from registration and coach card submission to the fully automated calculation and evaluation of judges’ scores — providing comprehensive support for every stage of the event.

What makes this noteworthy? The numbers tell the story:

  • Around 300 of the 600 pages of the World Aquatics rulebook are dedicated exclusively to synchronized swimming.
  • Each event is evaluated simultaneously by 13–16 judges.
  • Scores must be calculated using complex event- and element-specific weighting rules.
  • During the recent competition, nearly 700 athletes participated and performed 287 routines beyond the required figures, all of which were scored and evaluated element by element.

All of this is supported by a modern custom-built application featuring role-based functionality, real-time result displays, and many other tools required for professional event management.

We are not finished—and perhaps we never will be. New ideas, new requirements, and evolving regulations will always keep us moving forward. Still, we can confidently say that this is a true v1.0.
